Welcome to The Modest Homestead. It’s my adventure in life as a wife, mom, crafter, and designer. I post recipes, party inspiration, DIY craft projects, and interior design ideas as I work to update our modest homestead. I hope to inspire you with your own projects!
I love God, my sweet husband, our two little girls Claire and Madeline, and our Airdale Terrier Lily.
Some of my other passions include sewing, antiquing, bargain shopping, and finding roadside restorations. I love turning something ugly into something great. I’m addicted to fabric and have a collection that’s pining to be worked into something fabulous. I’m also a lover of all things pink and ruffled--good thing I have two girls.
I have a BA in Interior Design and use what I learned everyday! After I quit working full time to stay home with my girls, I needed a way to supplement our income. So I started making window treatments.
But I needed a creative outlet for all my other design, DYI, and craft project ideas. My husband encouraged me to start a blog and then helped me create it which is giving me more exposure. The Modest Homestead has been so successful we decided to use it as the launching pad for all things home, events, design, and life.
