Boxwood Wreath {tutorial}

I love the look and versatility of boxwood. It looks great in the spring and summer but add a red ribbon and it instantly becomes a Christmas classic. I found some faux boxwood on sale at Hobby Lobby for 50% off a few weeks ago and grabbed a couple bunches. I already had the rest of the supplies on hand so this was a pretty inexpensive project.

To make your own you will need:
  • Faux boxwood {I used one and a half bunches for one wreath}
  • Twig wreath
  • Wire cutters
  • Floral wire

First I cut off each branch of boxwood leaving a stem at the end.

I tucked the stem into the wreath.

And then wrapped floral wire around the stem to help shape it into the wreath form. I only needed half of each wire to wrap it around so I cut off the excess and used it for the next stem.

Just continue tucking the stems.

And wrapping them with wire until it's nice and full.

Voila! So easy and much cheaper than buying one!

This wreath looks great! I'm currently shopping for a condo and can't wait to hang a wreath on my door for every season and not have to worry about it getting weather worn!

I love this! It also looks really easy to make. I think that I'm going to have to make one myself. Thanks for sharing. :)
