Apple picking and fall shelves

We went apple picking last weekend as we do every year. Matt found a new apple orchard to try out and Claire loved being able to pick the apples herself and put them in her basket.

Maddy loved just walking around and finding apples on the ground or stealing them from Claire.

They had fun chasing these little guys that were running loose around the orchard.

We didn't get a pumpkin yet. In an effort to extend the fall activities we go to a pumpkin patch on a separate occasion. Plus I just love pumpkin patch pictures of my kiddos.

Here's a peak at the shelves in the breakfast room decorated for fall. The white dishes and amber colored leaf dishes are from Pottery Barn. The cream leaf plates are from Walmart and the monogram plate is from Hobby Lobby.

I made a couple regular size apple pies as well as some mini apple pies this year. For the mini pies I made the same recipe as usual and put it in a muffin tin. It took less time to bake so I just watched them carefully and took them out when the crust was brown. You can see my apple pie recipe here.

I hope you're enjoying this lovely fall weather!
